KIIT Robotics Society · line follower workshop
Traxia'26 is a hands-on build: chassis, IR sensors, motor driver, and the code that keeps two wheels on a black line. Not a talk. A working machine on the floor.
Move your cursor over the board. The chassis follows the nearest point on the line, just like a real line follower.
Sense → decide → drive
A line follower is not magic. It is a tight loop running a few hundred times a second: sample the sensors, pick a heading, push PWM. Miss a threshold and the bot walks off the tape. That is the lesson.
Reads black tape vs white board. Contrast is the whole problem.
Turns sensor bits into left/right PWM. This is the brain you flash.
L298N (or similar) takes logic and feeds the motors real current.
Two motors, two speeds. Turn by making one side slower.

Build the base
Understand the components, the line-following concept, and the code that makes the bot work.
Assemble your bot with the provided components and get hands-on experience wiring the complete system.
Improve your code, remove inefficiencies, and tune the control loop for smoother, faster tracking.
Race day
Bring your updated or enhanced code, put your bot on the track, and compete with other teams.
